Kathy (USA: GA) (2010/02/11): Do yourself a favor, and don't waste your time. The "butchering" is not only graphic, it's boring. Julie Powell is a classic narcissist pining for the reader's sympathy while telling us and her husband why she NEEDS and DESERVES her lover. The husband's character is one dimensional, and she never once feels remorse for what her obsession for this lover does to him. When she starts traveling, it feels like she striving to match Eat, Pray, Love without any of the self discovery. Morals and killing of animals aside, she's just not a good enough writer to pull off a book this disturbing. Quoting Buffy the Vampire Slayer constantly labels you an idiot in my book.
